What a crazy few months it’s been for the Mora family - New jobs for both of us, getting the final planning and construction process underway for our new house, certifications for Felipe’s new job, citizenship interview and oath for Felipe… all while growing a human and trying to plan for an infant in a tiny home! I had one slight moment of panic when I realized we wouldn’t be moved into the new house by the time the baby came – but got to work with a sketchbook and after figuring out a plan I haven’t had a single worry about it. We’ll have a little nursery nook in our upstairs bedroom, a bouncer and rock and play downstairs, and will move the baby to its own room whenever we move into the new house. The supplies we’re getting for the tiny house will transition easily to the new house, so we shouldn’t need to buy a bunch for the baby when we move (other than normal baby growing older and needing new things). It may end up feeling a little cramped, but overall I think it’s a do-able plan!
I’ve included a list of all the items we chose for baby Mora and the house and links to each – I had such a blast choosing the items that Baby will get to grow up with! The only sad part is that my wardrobe space is more limited but let’s be honest, most of that stuff doesn’t fit at the moment anyway 😝.
So here goes – a list of all our favorite Baby gear and supplies!

Graco Modes Downton Travel Set
We picked up our stroller and infant car seat during the Babies R Us going out of business sale, We played with every single one and I loved how easy this one was for me to collapse and open again! I had a ton of trouble with the ones that had a strap in the seat and was getting so frustrated – this one has a little button and is so much easier for me to use. The only one they had in the store was the floor model and so we thought we were out of luck, but we stopped by on one of the last days and there was a set brand new in the box! I literally guarded the box until Felipe could go get the cart 😂. This stroller was the perfect mix of cute yet super functional for us, has cup holders and a little basket underneath to put all your stuff. We were so lucky to find it and on sale at that!
Check out the same stroller/car seat travel system here. *Currently on sale at Bed Bath & Beyond and BuyBuyBaby
Pond Los Angeles Diaper Bag
I MAY have splurged a bit on a few staple baby items. I’ve actually been using a diaper bag as a purse for quite some time now because I love all the separate compartments for organization. I started following diaper bag campaigns on kickstarter and it was all over :p. This was actually my birthday present to myself – I love nice purses, so this is basically a combo diaper bag/purse of my dreams. I absolutely love the design and all the compartments so well thought out for baby, it can be a purse, side strap, or a backpack so it should be convenient for all sorts of events and can easily be a great purse when I’m not carrying around as much baby stuff in the future.
This was a Kickstarter campaign that’s currently in production, but you can find the diaper bag for purchase here.
Moondo Diaper Bag
Like I said, went kickstarter crazy. But since our diaper bag is most definitely a purse, I bought one for Felipe to use as a surprise for fathers day. One thing I love about both of our diaper bags is they are both great backs even without thinking of baby needs – the Moondo has a lifetime warranty and will be a bag we’ll use for travel for many years to come! (Even has a passport holder – COME ON! Where has this bag been for all these international trips?!?)
This was a Kickstarter campaign that’s currently in production, but you can find the diaper bag company facebook page here.
Tula Free-to-Grow Baby Carrier
My awesome sister bought us a Tula baby carrier, especially since we like to travel so much and do things out and about in Louisville, I felt like we really wanted to invest in a great quality baby carrier and all my research said the Tula Free to Grow carrier seemed great. It can fit the baby for multiple stages of growth, so we should be covered on a baby/kid carrier for awhile! Not to mention we got the pattern with stars on it which I love and just seems slightly Harry Potter magical to me without being completely over the top.

Charlie Crane Rocker
Okay now THIS was my ultimate splurge for this baby. I fell so in love with the clean design and look of it, I plan to have it for this baby, any future babies, and would honestly keep this as a piece of décor in any room in my house for years to come! It’s a huge pain to order though as it has to be shipped from overseas so I’m glad I ordered with plenty of time to spare.
Check out the Charlie Crane Rocker here. *Reminder – Leave plenty of time for shipping on this item! I searched around and Houseology (linked) is the least expensive place I could find for this rocker.
Fisher-Price Rock & Play by Jonathan Adler
I’ve heard nothing but praise on a rock and play from all my friends. Again, I wanted something that would work with all our other décor and be easy to save between kids (not just shoved in storage in case we every have another). I absolutely love the design of this rock and play and it has all the bells and whistles, so hopefully this little device helps keep us sane and helps baby Mora to sleep!

Lovevery Baby Gym
We wanted to be SUPER conscious about the toys the baby has, especially since we’re so limited in space starting out. I absolutely love the Lovevery baby gym because it comes with the play gym, mat, toys, and cards for what to play with at which age! I have no idea what age appropriate toys are and it gets so difficult to research all that – it’s cool to basically have a guidebook for what to emphasize for baby at which stage, all built into the prettiest little mat!
Check out the Lovevery Baby Gym here.
Amazon Cloud Cam
We chose the amazon cloud cam as our nursery camera (it was HALF OFF for prime day!). We even set it up to get used to how it works so now we watch the puppies during the day and get motion alerts when they move lol. SO CUTE.
Check out the Amazon Cloud Cam here. *This is an item that could be on major sale for Blank Friday – if you can wait, might be a good idea to plan for that!
Joovy Spoon Walker
One of my besties is passing along her adorable joovy walker – I absolutely love the clean lines and the fact that it can be used for baby to play and bounce in as well as for mealtimes!
Check out the Joovy Spoon Walker here.
Sundvik Crib
My in laws bought us our adorable crib and mattress from the best store on earth (IKEA). Funny story – when they were planning their visit here in July, my mother in law kept saying she wanted to buy the baby a Kuna and bring it with her. Everyone in the family was like, Ma, that doesn’t make sense, just buy one over there because transporting a crib from one country to another will be a nightmare – but I was like “No I think it would be cool, what it it?” Turns out, “Kuna” is the word for crib in Spanish but is also the name of an indigenous tribe in panama that makes really cool designs and stuff. I thought she wanted to get the baby something from the Kunas and thought it would be cool for baby to have some neat Panamanian patterned papoose or something. OH language barriers - I think it’s time I really focus on that Spanish 😯.

Eames Glider Rocker
Again – with such a little space, we wanted to make sure we don’t shove all the giant stuff into what’s already a limited space. I had high hopes of fitting in this cute little Eames rocker – it’s another item I will use for baby, but want in the house long term as well. That’s been something I’ve really tried to focus on, choosing items that work for now but are also an investment into furniture instead of something we’ll get rid of once the baby is too old for it. Since the rocker is a little less padded than the larger rocking chairs, I added this faux fur seating pad for it that should help make it nice and comfy to rock baby to sleep. I also think this will be a darling backdrop for photos as baby M grows!
Check out the Eames Rocker here. *Note: There are several versions of this on Amazon, I read the reviews and chose the one with the most and best reviews for the price range I was looking in.
Dressers
In order to fit the baby in this house, we’re having to reconfigure our closet situation. We decided on two dressers from IKEA, one for the upstairs and one that will be downstairs while we’re in the tiny house. Both will translate perfectly to the Nursery when we move! I love the clean look of these dressers from IKEA and they match so much of our other nursery décor. The smaller dresser downstairs will also double as a changing table, and we have a portable changing pad upstairs for middle of the night changes in case we don’t want to walk downstairs to do it each time. We have no idea how this will all play out, but we’re trying to prepare for multiple options!
Check out the Skip Hop Changing Station here.
Those are the major items we chose for Baby M! We are also collecting all the little stuff (thermometer, bathing supplies, etc), but these are the core/non-disposable items that will be with baby for quite some time. It was honestly a ton of fun choosing this stuff and coming up with our plan.
Check out the blog post here on the finished nursery nook and tiny house setup!
